Magnolia Bakery’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup/ 1 stick plus 2 tablespoons Butter (at room temperature)
3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
3/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
2 cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips OR High-Quality Chocolate Chunks from bar (I like to add a little more than usual)
INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE MAGNOLIA BAKERY’S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
(I halved the ingredients because I cannot eat all these cookies by myself! I mean I could…. ^^)
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a stand mixer with the paddle (I used a hand-held mixer), cream the butter and both sugars for 2 minutes on medium speed. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl, and continue beating until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Beat in the vanilla. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl.
Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture until fully incorporated. Be sure not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips/chunks with a rubber spatula.
Use a #40 one-ounce cookie scoop to portion the dough into 24 balls. (I just used a spoon and eye-balled it.) Place on a baking sheet and chill for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours. (I chilled the cookie dough overnight)
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, remove the cookies from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Arrange 12 cookies, evenly spaced, on the baking sheet. Gently press the dough balls to flatten slightly.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Let the cookies sit on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
and of course enjoy!
The Magnolia Bakery’s Chocolate Chip Cookies were soft, sweet, and chewy! These were definitely on the sweeter side so make sure you have some milk, milk alternative, or tea with these goodies!
Stay safe and have some fun baking!
