Disney’s churros are my all time favorite sweet treats at the park. So, when my best friend sent me the link to their recipe, I was super excited. Their churro is one thing I always have to get when I’m there. (Anyone else??) Although the long sugar-coated snack is what makes it prominent, I decided to make bite size pieces because miniature sized foods are so much better and cuter!
It was so nice to create a little bit of Disney magic at home. So without further ado, here is the recipe for Disney’s churros if you haven’t made it yourself already!
How to Make Disney Churros
1 cup water
8 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups vegetable or canola oil
1/2 cup sugar
Combine water, butter, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring pot to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and add flour. Stir vigorously until the mix forms a ball. Remove from heat and let sit for 5-7 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside.
In another skillet or saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. I rolled up the dough into small bite size pieces or you can spoon the dough into a piping bag with a large star tip to pipe 1-inch of dough into the hot oil. Remove the churros from the oil when golden brown.
Mix the sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Toss the churro bites until coated with the sugar mixture. (Make sure the churros aren’t drenched in oil when putting it in the sugar mixture.)
Add your favorite dipping sauce or eat as is. Enjoy it while it’s warm!
Till we can go back to Disneyland, I’ll be enjoying these fried, sweet treats from home. Thank you Disney for this magical experience we get to create at home!
