Gyms are closed, but I’ve really been enjoying doing my workouts at home. During this quarantined time, the healthy lifestyle I’ve created and dedicated myself to have made me feel stronger and more lively.
How To Start A Healthier Lifestyle
Yes, it takes a lot of work, but it’s worth it! I had to put myself in a positive mindset and dedicate my time to working out and eating healthier. Not only am I more energized, but I feel and look better. The 2 main factors that have helped me stay consistent with a healthier lifestyle is:
#1: Finding people to live a healthy lifestyle with
Find someone or a group of friends to keep you accountable, and vice versa. Be a positive influence in your friend’s and family’s lives too! Find people to workout with and find people who will cook and eat with you in person or virtually! Build a healthy, fresh, active lifestyle together.
For me, my boyfriend has helped me a lot. He’s always keeping us active and willing to create meals at home. We make our workouts enjoyable by mixing it up to add variety and fun. We will do home workouts together, go hiking, go on runs, go for walks, and bike around town. We’re not always together but, we make sure that we are keeping each other accountable and prepping meals ahead of time so we knew we always have a healthy, balanced meal to eat.
Don’t forget, you have to try and want this lifestyle for yourself in order to encourage those around you. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself and really appreciate what you’re doing to make it enjoyable, powerful, and fun for everyone you’re doing this together with.
Finding the right workout(s) for you is a huge way to keep you motivated. You don’t have to do something extremely difficult or do intensive workouts everyday. Alternate or combine workouts with walks, jogs, hikes, swimming, or even kayaking. The most important thing is to enjoy what you’re doing. There are endless possibilities, so have fun and get your body moving!
I created a blog post HERE telling you all my favorite workouts I like to do at home, so make sure to check it out!
Overall, my body has been feeling so much better, my acne has been clearing up, I don’t get many migraines anymore, and I feel happier living a healthier lifestyle. Eating healthy may sound daunting, but that doesn’t mean you have to completely give up allll the foods that you enjoy eating. I have such a huge sweet tooth, so completely giving up desserts and sweets is difficult and unnecessary. Just as long as you are maintaining a balanced meal and being active, it’s okay to have that scoop of ice cream from Salt and Straw or a slice of cheesecake once in awhile. Don’t feel bad for eating something “unhealthy”; just don’t consume unhealthy all day, all the time ;).
I’m excited to see your journey on a healthier lifestyle and I want to know what changes you’re making to feel stronger! Let’s do this, together!
