I’m a very low maintenance girl when it comes to my hair. I only do 3 things with it and I’ve managed to have beautiful, healthy hair that gets compliments all the time.

My Healthy Hair Tips and Routine

#1: Spoil yourself to a Salon Day

I get my hair trimmed twice a year to get rid of the split ends and to spoil myself because going to the salon is always so nice and refreshing! Getting my hair trimmed is important because it gets rid of the messy parts of my hair. I only go to the salon for a trim. I don’t get any treatments, I don’t color/dye my hair, just a trim or a cut. Like I said, I’m low maintenance.

This is my natural hair color! I’ve been loving the different shades of brown I’ve been getting from …. the SUN! Make sure your hair soaks in some of that sunshine as well!

#2: Hair Care Routine

I’ve been using OGX’s Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. I have sensitive skin and OGX’s materials haven’t caused any reactions to my scalp, which is a bonus for me. Its taken me awhile to find a shampoo that doesn’t irritate my scalp or smell like medicine. So, I’ve been going back to OGX which has a wonderful, tropical scent and leaves my scalp moisturized.

Also, I don’t blow dry my hair; I towel dry it as much as I can and then let the air do the rest. Growing up, I heard blow drying your hair damages it and creates more split ends (I do not know if this is true or not), but since I’ve gotten so used to not blow drying my hair by now, I just don’t really do it anymore.

One routine that I just started doing which I have been loving is brushing my hair. I used to never brush my hair. I’m very fortunate to have thick, straight, lush hair so I never really found the need to brush my hair. However, brushing your hair is such a treat! Not only does it massage your scalp, but my hair just instantly feels silkier and longer. Make sure to find a brush that you like and that feels good to you, everyone has different preferences, so find what’s best for you.

#3: Hair Product

The only product I put in my hair is It’s a 10 Haircare Miracle Leave-In. I spritz their formula onto my hair two to three times a week after my showers and it truly works miracles for me. It smells nice and leaves my hair soft and looking luscious. This product is a bit pricy, but since I only spend money on this for my hair, I think it’s worth it!

UPDATE!

I’ve been using this conditioning mask from Joico 1-2 times a week. After shampooing my hair, I apply the conditioning mask in my hair for about 5 minutes and then wash it out. It does wonders for my hair!

I’ve been following this routine for years and am very satisfied with it. I get compliments on my hair all the time and it makes me feel good knowing that I can take care of my hair well without spending so much time and money on it. Your hair is a part of your body, so make sure to take care of it well too!
