Who Are The Giving Keys?
The Giving Keys is a company whose mission is to help people transition out of homelessness and to inspire the world to pay it forward. For every key bought, you are supporting people transitioning out of homelessness to get a job. Not only is your purchase helping someone, these keys also carry words that symbolize something important in your life or something you want more of in life. When you feel like someone needs your key more than you, you pass it along.
One of my friends shared this incredible and uplifting story with me and I knew I wanted to be a part of The Giving Keys’ dream. As I went to their store opening in September at Downtown, Los Angeles, I was captivated by all the beautiful jewelry I was seeing. It was amazing that something so simple could look so beautiful and be so inspiring. I was automatically drawn to their matte black keys and thought of getting his and her “matching” keys. I got the matte black key necklace etched with the word “hope” and a dainty mini key necklace, in black, etched with the word “love”.
Why I love The Giving Keys
I’ve chosen a Giving Keys necklace with the word “love” and I have a heart tattoo which symbolizes love. For me, love is something that I am always trying to show and express more of in my daily life. Love is such an overused word, but it carries so much depth and meaning. I feel like we tend to underestimate what love really is. Love is delicate, beautiful, endless, perfect. Love is so important and the world needs more of it.
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things … So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:7, 13
I appreciate companies like The Giving Keys who dream of giving back to their community and to the world. It’s so inspiring and encouraging to see people wanting to spread more joy, more kindness, more passion, more strength, more fearlessness, more hope, and more love into our world.
So, what word will you get engraved into your key and why?
With beauty, grace, and love,
