Okay, the school year is coming to a start which means I can start using my lovely planner! I usually buy my plan book in June, but I don’t start to accessorize it and start planning until late July. With soooo many different planners, it’s so hard to choose just one! This year, I decided to stick with The Happy Planner. Not only did I choose The Happy Planner, I decided to change things up this year and stick with a regular planner, not a teacher plan book. Here’s why:
1. The Details
Just like clothes and shoes, the details really make a difference. The details are pieces that fit you. This year, it was hard for me to find a teacher plan book that I liked. Although they were great, none of the designs really called to me. But this regular planner really caught my attention.
The colors and the designs of this planner fit my style so well. I loved the pastel colors throughout the entire planner. The colors fit my vibe and I appreciated the designs of the flowers and girls throughout the entire book. The characters pop up here and there and they match the theme of the month. Also, on the monthly pages, you’ll see some special days with a character doing yoga poses. It’s so cute and relaxing.
I’m a calm person, so I enjoy stationary that have calmer tones and themes. The pastel colors really did the trick for me and the characters doing yoga poses put me in my zen.
2. The Layout
The planners that I always used had a horizontal layout, but I found that vertical layouts were easier to use for me. Why? When using horizontal layouts, I would have to constantly turn my planner back and forth throughout the day. With a vertical layout, the entire day is on the same page, so there’s no turning/flipping over required!
Also, this planner saves me a lot of time because all the monthly calendars and weekly overviews have the dates written out. I don’t have to worry about writing the wrong date and I don’t have to worry about having to spend time writing out all the dates on my own.
Although the planner isn’t sectioned off to where you can write the different subjects, there is enough space to write out your lessons and you can always section off subjects by drawing a line with colorful pens or using stickers to section them off.
I’m also a very simple person. Simplicity is key to me. The planner doesn’t have as many special pages like teacher planners do, such as a checklist, grading pages, seating chart pages. This planner is simple: each month consists of a monthly over view page, a cute picture, a calendar of the month, sections to write notes, and the weekly pages. Simple.
Although this isn’t a teacher plan book, I like how I can add information about my students and teacher life inside the monthly pages.
I have gotten many different planners from different companies and love them all, but my Happy Planner fit my budget and called out to me most. Where do you all like to get your planners from and why? I will love to know where else I can get wonderful planners!
